The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

Double dribble: NBA TNT doubleheader betting preview

Los Angeles Lakers at Miami Heat (+2, 188)

The Heat have been wretched against good teams this season, but one of their best wins came at the Staples Center on Christmas Day.

As a 3.5-point underdog, Miami laughed at the spread and hammered the Lakers 96-80 as LeBron James delivered a triple-double. LeBron scored a game-high 27 points, dished out 11 of his team’s impressive 25 assists, and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Miami’s “Big 3” combined for 69 points while Mario Chalmers chipped in 13. Kobe Bryant had an afternoon to forget, going 6 of 16 from the floor for 17 points. Pau Gasol also scored 17 but it was nowhere near enough to overcome the Heat, who got 18 first-half points from Chris Bosh and never trailed after an early 8-7 L.A. lead.

Tears of the sun

Perhaps you thought it could not get any worse for the Heat (43-21, 29-34-1 ATS) when they dropped a pair of home games to New York and Orlando last week. But then they got blown out 125-95 at San Antonio one day after losing to the Magic.

Surely that was rock bottom, right? Wrong. They promptly lost again at home Sunday, this time 87-86 to Chicago, after more late-game failings by LeBron and Dwayne Wade. Head coach Erik Spoelstra said afterward that some of his guys were crying in the locker room.

Improbably, it still got worse for Miami after that. The spiraling team fell at home, again, to Portland, 105-96. That loss extended the Heat’s losing streak to five. They have not covered a single spread in their last seven outings and they have not beat a team above .500 (and nobody better than 27-36 Indiana) since February 3.

Miami will have plenty of incentive for Thursday’s showdown, and not just because it’s yet another chance to get over the hump against a top team. Los Angeles head coach Phil Jackson joined in the cry-gate fun Wednesday.

“This is the NBA: No Boys Allowed,” Jackson joked to the Los Angeles Times. “Big boys don't cry. But if you're going to do it, do it in the toilet where no one sees you.”

The Lakers (46-19, 32-32-1 ATS) have had no need to cry lately. With the Heat are streaking in the wrong direction, L.A. extended its winning surge to five games with a 101-87 victory at Atlanta Tuesday.

Trending topics

- The Lakers are 7-1 ATS in their last eight overall and 5-0 ATS in their last five road games.

- The Heat are 0-7 ATS in their last seven overall and 0-5 ATS in their last five home games.

- Head-to-head, Miami is 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings. The under is 5-1 in the last six encounters at AmericanAirlines Arena.

New York Knicks at Dallas Mavericks (-7, 215.5)

If you thought the Christmas clash between the Lakers and Heat was a potential NBA Finals preview, perhaps you should have tuned in on February 2 instead. That’s when the Knicks and Mavericks squared off in New York for their first of two meetings during the regular season. As a 2-point underdog at Madison Square Garden, Dallas dominated the second and third quarters to prevail 113-97.

Of course, this is a much different Knicks team now. Danilo Gallinari, who led the Knicks with 27 points in the loss to Dallas, is a Denver Nugget. New York, which got 21 points from Amare Stoudemire and 22 from backup guard Toney Douglas, was obviously without recently-acquired Carmelo Anthony. The Mavericks owned the glass to the tune of a 54 to 34 rebounding margin while Dirk Nowitzki led five Dallas players in double figures with 29 points.

Both the Knicks (at Memphis) and Mavericks (at New Orleans) have zero days of rest heading into Thursday’s showdown. New York is a respectable 9-6 (11-3-1 ATS) in the second of back-to-back games this season while Dallas is a stellar 10-4 (9-5 ATS).

Four games in five nights

The Mavericks (46-17, 34-27-2 ATS) may have trouble staying in the present on Thursday night, because they have a lot on their plate both in the past and the future. Not only will it be Dallas’ fourth game in five nights, but the team also has a showdown against the Lakers coming up on Saturday.

“It's going to test us mentally and physically,” guard Jason Terry told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram before the stretch started. “It's going to tell you a lot about your team this late in the season playing four in five nights. We're going to see what we're made of. But I think we're up for the task and we're excited.”

So far, the Mavericks are 1-1 (0-2 ATS). They lost 104-103 at home to Memphis on a buzzer beater from Zach Randolph before winning 108-105 at Minnesota Monday.

“Even though it's a home game, I see trouble ahead against New York on Thursday,” said Eddie Sefko, beat writer for the Dallas Morning News. “The Mavericks will be finishing their four-game, five-night run. They will have spent themselves Wednesday night in New Orleans against the Hornets and they also will have a human-nature battle on their hand to keep from looking forward to the Lakers.”

What Sefko may not know, though, is that the Knicks (33-29, 38-22-2 ATS) will also be wrapping up a four-game, five-night stretch. The streak of games is certainly not doing any favors for Chauncey Billups, who has missed four straight games with a quadriceps injury and is listed as questionable as of Wednesday afternoon.

Trending topics

- The Knicks are 5-1 ATS in their last six overall.

- The over is 16-5 in the Mavericks’ last 21 overall and 5-0 in their last five when they play on zero day’s rest.

- Head-to-head, in the last five meetings the road team is 5-0 ATS and the over is 4-1.

Thursday's betting tips: St. John's lives to play again

Who’s hot

NHL: The Sharks are 18-4 in their last 22 overall.

NCAAB: Akron is 8-2 ATS in its last 10 overall and 8-0 ATS in its last eight as a favorite.

NCAAB: California is 4-0 ATS in its last four overall.

NBA: The Nuggets are 7-1 ATS in their last eight overall.

NBA: The over is 5-1 in the Suns’ last six overall and 4-1 in their last five home games.

Who’s not

NHL: The Coyotes are 1-6 in their last seven overall.

NCAAB: Maryland is 1-6 ATS in its last seven overall.

NCAAB: Indiana is 0-5 ATS in its last five overall.

NBA: The Suns are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five against the Western Conference.

NBA: The Heat are 0-7 ATS in their last seven overall and 0-5 ATS in their last five home games.

Key stat

7 – Consecutive games in which Wake Forest has lost by a double-digit margin. The Demon Deacons have lost 10 in a row overall and 15 of their last 16 games. They have not been competitive since a 74-73 loss to Miami on February 9 and none of their last seven contests has been closer than14 points. Wake is coming off an 84-68 rout at Boston College on Sunday and the team is going up against the Eagles again in the first round of the ACC Tournament on Thursday.

Injuries that shouldn’t be overlooked

The Vancouver Canucks and San Jose Sharks are dealing with some injury issues heading into their game on Thursday. For Vancouver, left winger Chris Higgins (11 goals, 12 assists) and Mason Raymond (11 goals, 21 assists) are questionable. Higgins has not played since February 25 due to a broken thumb, while Raymond sustained a shoulder injury on Sunday and sat out Tuesday’s contest against Phoenix.

San Jose could be without defenseman Dan Boyle (6 goals, 31 assists), who is questionable with an upper body injury. Boyle missed Tuesday’s game against Nashville.

Biggest games on the slate

Los Angeles Lakers at Miami Heat (2, 188)

Connecticut Huskies vs. Pittsburgh Panthers

Notable quotable

“Was there a mistake made? I saw it on YouTube. There was a mistake made.” – Rutgers head coach Mike Rice after his team’s controversial 65-63 loss in the second round of the Big East Tournament on Wednesday. There were actually multiple officiating mistakes, but Rice was certainly referring to a St. John’s player both walking and stepping out of bounds with 1.7 seconds left. It was not called, and the Red Storm advanced to the quarterfinals. The Johnnies are 8-1 at Madison Square Garden this season, with their only loss coming to none other than Syracuse.

Tips and notes

What does Tiger Woods have in common with the Heat? They are both in Miami and they both can’t win. “They’re trying to jell and have cohesion,” Woods, who is playing the WGC-Cadillac Championship this week at Doral, told the Miami Herald. “They have plenty of time to get it together.” Woods, however, does not. The Masters is exactly one month away and the world No. 5 (no, not a misprint) hopes to resurrect his game now in preparation for the season’s first major. Just as Woods is not worried about the Heat, his swing coach—Sean Foley—is not worried about Woods. "The panic button gets hit more by the media and their perception of whatever is happening than anyone else who is living with the truth and being part of the situation," Foley told ESPN.com. "I'm the one who stands there and sees the quality on the range. And then you go on the golf course. You just have to understand at some point, those two have to merge." Woods is favored to win this week at +900 odds, just ahead of world No. 1 Martin Kaymer at +1000.

With the Florida Panthers out of the playoff picture, general manager Dale Tallon did some serious house-cleaning prior to last week’s trade deadline He shipped away eight players (seven from the NHL roster), including captain Bryan McCabe. Florida did so much dumping that if the salary cap stays at $59.4 million next season, it will have $43 million to spend on draft picks and free agents. Not surprisingly, the Panthers have lost four of five since the deadline and their only win—shockingly—came against the Blackhawks on Saturday. By all accounts, though, Chicago played amazingly bad hockey and trailed 3-0 after one period of a 3-2 loss. “You have to play 60 minutes no matter who you play against,” said Marian Hossa. “We just thought it was going to be easier.”

Pick 'n' roll:

Thursday's best basketball bets

Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns (-3.5, 215.5)

No Channing Frye? No problem.

The Suns lost Frye to a dislocated shoulder on Sunday and he is expected to be sidelined for at least to weeks. Enter Hakim Warrick. The former Syracuse star got the start against Houston on Tuesday and erupted for a career-high 32 points, 20 of which he poured in during the first half in Phoenix’s 113-110 victory.

"I got a couple layups that got me going, and Steve (Nash) just kept feeding, and all I pretty much had to do is knock it down," Warrick said afterward. "This game is mostly confidence. You see the ball go in the basket, and you're going to continue to be aggressive."

The Suns signed Warrick to be a poor man’s Amar’e Stoudemire and they traded for Vince Carter in December to replace Jason Richardson’s scoring. Both did their replacement jobs perfectly, as Carter also went for 32 points.

Similarly, Denver has done nice work in replacing Carmelo Anthony. The Nuggets are 5-2 (6-1 ATS) since his departure but just 1-2 on the road in that span. They are coming off a 103-100 loss to the Clippers on Saturday.

Arron Afflalo (12.9 ppg, 3.7 rpg) strained his left hamstring in Saturday’s setback and is listed as doubtful. Afflalo might as well be called “out” for Thursday’s contest and there is a chance he could miss several weeks.

Pick: Phoenix

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs. Virginia Tech Hokies (-5, 133.5)

It’s March, and that can only mean one thing…Virginia Tech is back on the NCAA Tournament bubble!

Seth Greenberg and company find themselves on the bubble yet again heading into the first round of the ACC Tournament against Georgia Tech on Thursday night. The Hokies appeared to have escaped that all-too-familiar fate when they upset then-No. 1 Duke on February 26, but they promptly followed it up with losses to Boston College and Clemson.

"We have a small margin of error," Greenberg told the Washington Post. "They know it. That’s just the reality of it. But we’re the same team a week ago that thought they were invincible. We’ve got to maintain that mindset, but again, I understand our limitations. But through those limitations, we’ve won a lot of games."

They better win one more game on Thursday, because a loss to a team with a ton of limitations—which is exactly what Georgia Tech is—would be crippling for Virginia Tech. Don’t be fooled by the Yellow Jackets’ two-game winning streak; one win came against a horrific Wake Forest team and the other was at home against Miami (FL).

One of Georgia Tech’s best games of the season was a 72-57 drubbing of the Hokies on January 25. However, Virginia Tech got emphatic revenge at home on February 13 and humiliated the lesser Tech 102-77. Malcolm Delaney (33) and Jeff Allen (25) combined for 58 points.

Pick: Virginia Tech

Thursday's best NHL bets

Montreal Canadiens at St. Louis Blues (-102, 5.5)

The Canadiens are one of the hottest teams in the NHL having won five games in a row, so why will they be playing like men possessed against St. Louis on Thursday?

Montreal is coming off a 4-1 win over Boston on Tuesday that was marred by a vicious Zdeno Chara hit on Habs forward Max Pacioretty. It sent Pacioretty (14 goals, 10 assists) into one of the upright posts that supports plexiglass in between the teams’ benches and knocked him unconscious. Pacioretty is out indefinitely with—at the very least—a concussion.

“The most important thing for us is that Max will recover and be back with us soon,” Lars Eller, who scored a pair of goals in the game, told the Montreal Gazette. “We’re happy for the win. We played a real good team game. It was hard to stay focused after the injury but at least we know now that he’s talking and he can move all his body parts and that makes it feel better.”

Incident aside, the Canadiens should also be feeling good about their current level of play. Their only loss in seven outings was a 5-4 nail-biter against Toronto on February 24. Montreal is up to sixth place in the Eastern Conference and has a 10-point cushion on a playoff spot.

St. Louis, on the other hand, is 10 points out of a playoff spot at 13th place in the Western Conference. The Blues have lost four of their last five games and seven of their last nine.

Pick: Montreal

Philadelphia Flyers at Toronto Maple Leafs (126, 5.5)

The Flyers had a big lead in the Eastern Conference (and still have a smaller lead), which is perhaps why they did not look particularly interested during their recent four-game losing streak.

But head coach Peter Laviolette would have no more of it after an especially embarrassing loss to the Rangers, 7-0 on Sunday. Laviolette gave his team the day off on Monday and Philadelphia responded on Tuesday by ending the slump and beating Edmonton 4-1.

"We had plenty of gas in the tank tonight," Laviolette told the Philadelphia Courier-Post.

Or maybe it was just that Edmonton is simply god-awful; the worst team in the NHL to be exact (with a miniscule 54 points).

We will find out more about the Flyers on Thursday when they visit a Toronto team that is not much better than mediocre, but one that is at least fighting for a playoff spot (four points out in the East).

The Maple Leafs have won only two of their last six contests, but they scored fewer than three goals only once in that span. Toronto is not one of the best at capitalizing on power plays, but the team has created 274 man advantages—second in the NHL behind Tampa Bay.

Pick: Toronto

Thursday's best horse racing bets

Gulfstream Race 8

Like any good athlete (and any good pick-maker), you have to put a losing effort behind you…. And that’s what yesterday was. Eesh. Right angle at Tampa, wrong outcome. Let’s stay in Florida today and go with race 8 at Gulfstream; 1 mile on the Turf in a 55k Allowance (N1X). Again speed is playing well in this race, and the morning line favorite hasn’t won since his maiden, while trying similar levels.

Compare that with Mobilizer, a Woodbine shipper who was the Queen’s Plate favorite—though that was his last race—and you can see there’s a wide selection here. I’m landing on Devon Rock; has excuses at this level his last three outings and has improved both times this year. Shouldn’t be a big price, but seems about right.

Santa Anita Race 5

Let’s go out to the West Coast for Santa Anita’s 5th race; a race with only two pace-setters where front runners have done very well. The favorite is Bogie, who failed at this level about a month ago with a wide trip.

Hopefully this happens again, because I like Dubai You XYZ moving up in class. The second-place finisher from his last race won at the 56k allowance level, but I like another horse just as much at a bit of a longer number. Ace of Aces has the speed, has the trainer, is making his third start since the layoff and broke his maiden going a mile. 5/1 is much better than 5/2.

My rules: 1 horse to show, no favorites. Results: -53% ROI, Avg Finish: 4.5, Avg Choice: 4.75 Avg Odds: 18.65

Today's NHL Picks
